Our faces have become data. Facial recognition technology influences more aspects of daily life than we might think—from border control to preventing retail theft and managing security at football stadiums. While these systems claim to improve security and convenience, they also reinforce biases, limit personal freedom, and shape how we are seen by both institutions and algorithms.

This program examines the societal impact of facial recognition: Who benefits, who is excluded, and what does it mean to have your identity interpreted by a machine? How can AI tools trained on faces create entirely new ones or transform the ones we already know? And how can we escape the algorithm?
