In collaboration with Roffa Mon Amour and Stroom Festival, Go Short brought live electronic acts Betonkust and Palmbomen II & Kaito Winse to create fresh live scores for short films from the Go Short International Film Festival archive. This evening's program features two captivating live performances that were made especially for the films.

Betonkust

Betonkust grew up in a small, nature-surrounded town in the Netherlands. House music filled his typical 1990s upbringing. Now in Rotterdam, he’s part of a lively electronic music scene. Using simple gear like Korg Electribes and a cheap guitar, he records in FL Studio, crafting music that explores transience, surrender, and human melancholy.

Kaito Kai (Palmbomen II x Avalanche Kaito)

Kaito Kai, the duo of Kaito Winse (Avalanche Kaito) and Kai Hugo (Palmbomen II), was created spontaneously during an improvisation session with friends of Het Bos. During the film concert, they bring their unique sound and new music to Nijmegen during Go Short!

Kaito Kai's music? A mix of global acid house, Italo and playful percussion, combined with unconventional vocals. Think of a cross between Underground Resistance and Kokoko! Live, the duo guarantees an energetic and compelling show. The soundtrack, which will be performed live this evening, was created during a residency in Nijmegen before the festival.
