This film program aims to showcase a selection of desktop documentary films from the past decade. This genre takes on various forms and perspectives, making an inspiring suggestion: films can be created without a camera. Existing material found in digital environments can be recorded, rearranged, repurposed and edited; the screen can transform into a site of production; research processes can turn into storylines; what is behind-the-scenes can be brought to the screen. The selected films will highlight diverse approaches within this genre, providing a platform for discussing contemporary image politics and inspiring new forms of filmmaking.
