This was Go Short 2025

We had the best time -  soaking up the sun, seeing the packed venues, and enjoying all the incredible stories. From April 1 to 6, Nijmegen turned Go Short red once again, as we came together to celebrate short film in all its forms. With over 450 film professionals from around the world, thousands of visitors, endless conversations, spontaneous dance moves, and so many beautiful encounters.

Go Short wouldn’t have been nearly as vibrant without you - our audience - so thank you! Luckily, we can still relive a bit of this edition through all the photos and videos. Want to enjoy it with us one more time?

The festival grounds

This year we had, if we may say so ourselves, a very pleasant festival site. The food trucks Try Thai and Artizan Pizza provided delicious food, and Brouwerij 't IJ provided everyone with a cold drink. Fancied a coffee, juice, or sweet snack? Then you could go to Soundtrek. And the Platenbus made sure there was dancing. The terrace was busy with film professionals, visitors, and passers-by.

Over 80 film programs

You visited about 80 film blocks this year. From the special Film Concert to competition films, and from urgent themes such as the war in Ukraine to the annually recurring Comedy and Oscar Shorts.

The Go Short Awards

During the 17th edition of Go Short, the coveted Go Short Awards were presented during a live show. The awards form an important springboard for the Oscars, BAFTA and European Film Awards, among others. The jury announced to a full room in LUX, in hometown Nijmegen, who had won the awards. The winning films provide a powerful insight into the diversity of lives and perspectives.

The parties

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, it was time to hit the dance floor at the afterparties. We let loose to Franco James, danced the night away at De Plak, and kept the energy going in De Onderbroek.

Industry events for over 450 professionals

Every year, filmmakers and other film professionals from all over Europe travel to Nijmegen to participate in our Industry Program. During the festival, they can meet each other in an accessible way to share their own experiences and learn from experts. This year there was again a packed program with masterclasses, talks and workshops.
