The selected films for the 17th edition of Go Short have been announced!

We selected the best films in Europe from more than 3000 entries. These short films can be viewed in the competitions: the European Competition, the Dutch Competition and the New Arrivals Competition. In addition, in our Music Video Competition you can see the best video clips of the past year on the big screen. 

Be surprised by fresh ideas from new and returning talent and watch the shorts in the presence of many of the makers. Who will take home the coveted Go Short Awards? And which film do you think should win the audience award?

The European Competition

The selection for the European competition consists of 42 films made by makers from all over Europe. The highly rated films are eligible for the Best European Short in the categories fiction, documentary, and animation.  

The films of the European Competition are divided intoseveralf film blocks and can be seen during Go Short 2025. The winners in the fiction, documentary, and animation categories qualify for the Oscars.

The Dutch Competition

We proudly present the Dutch Competition, 20 selected films that include the best of our own soil. These highly rated films, ranging from animation to fiction to documentary, compete for the VEVAM prize for the best Dutch film.

The New Arrivals competition

This year, 19 films have been selected for Go Short's New Arrivals Competition. These films come from European art and film academies, and are the work of the next generation of film talent.

 

The Music Video Competition

This year's selection consists of 13 cinematic music videos chosen by our selection committee. The selected music videos deserve to be seen on the big screen, in the best possible quality and with immersive sound. The selected music videos are eligible for the Best Music Video.
