Go Short seeks welcoming film enthusiasts

Are you a Nijmegen resident who loves film? Do you have an extra room in your house? Would you like to contribute to an unforgettable festival experience for filmmakers from all over the world? Then this is your chance to become a Homestayer during Go Short 2025! From 1 to 6 April, we welcome a large number of international filmmakers and they need a place to sleep. By signing up as a Homestayer, you not only give these filmmakers a place to sleep, but you offer them a unique opportunity to learn more about Nijmegen and its citizens.

As a Homestayer, you will not only be a host or hostess, but you will have the opportunity to experience special encounters. You will meet creative filmmakers, who have stories to tell and take you into their world. You yourself, of course, can also share your story and get inspiration from the people staying with you. And as a bonus, you will get a look behind the scenes of the Go Short Film Festival!

What do you offer filmmakers?

As a Homestayer, you offer the filmmakers a nice, private bedroom and breakfast in the morning. The filmmakers will be at the festival most of the day and eat there in the evening as well. We are looking for places to sleep between 1 and 6 April. Since LUX is our main venue, we prefer to look for places to stay near the city centre.

What do I get in return?

As a Homestay Host, you get the following perks:

  • Free tickets to films
  • Breakfast allowance a €7.50 per day
  • Invitation to the City walk and drinks during the festival
  • A Homestay meeting on 20 March with a number of film screenings
  • An unforgettable experience and great meetings with filmmakers

Where do I sign up?

If you are interested in being a Homestayer, please apply by 20 February using this form. After you sign up, we will contact you to schedule a visit. We will then be happy to drop by to get acquainted and check out the place to sleep.
